Still waiting

We're still here and still waiting!

My due date is this coming Wednesday, January 3rd. Last week the Doctor said that he would measure the baby this week (Tuesday) and make a decision from there. Either we'll induce, have a C-section, or keep waiting! Yesterday I had contractions for 5 hours, but they were sporadic and they stopped in the evening. That was a little disappointing. That's all the news for now.

38 weeks

We took a few pictures today... hopefully they will be the last! This week is the 38th... we're full term and 2 weeks from our due date. Hopefully he will be early. :)

waiting

We are about 2 1/2 weeks from our due date and we are just waiting. It's fun to be in this waiting stage because we are enjoying things we won't be able to do for a long time, like going to see movies or going shopping spontaneously. It's also a little difficult, mainly because being this pregnant is not so much fun. I can't sleep much longer than 2 hours without having to wake up and roll over to the other side because my hip hurts. But I guess that's all preparation for lack of sleep for the next few months. We are going for lots of walks, and today we raked leaves for several hours... all in an attempt to hurry him along. It doesn't seem to be helping much yet!

That's where we are, though!
Merry Christmas.

A big family

D.'s sister and aunt gave us a baby party with all of D.'s family (and some of mine too). We had a wonderful time, and we were so blessed with gifts for our little boy. We've put all of our gifts in their places and we're ready for when he arrives! I told the doctor yesterday that I thought next week would be good. :) We are trying to enjoy the waiting and live in anticipation. Advent is good to remind us of how important that is.

time with Anna

Sorry I'm a little slow... we have been so busy these last weeks, but yesterday I turned in a 20 page paper on the blues, and just two more to finish! I can't believe this semester is almost over.

We are so blessed to have the cutest niece in the entire world. We got to hang out with her over the Thanksgiving week and we even went to her birthday party! I thought these pictures were so cute, so I wanted to post them.

Face to Face

Here he is!

We went to the doctor today but didn't see the doctor. He was stuck at the hospital helping another doctor with surgery, so they gave us an ultrasound. We got to see all 4 chambers of the heart, the kidneys, the bladder, the stomach, and his chest moving up and down as if he were breathing.

The nurse said he's in the head down position, which is right where he needs to be. She also said he's measuring to be about 6 lbs 13 oz! In case you're wondering, that's big...especially in week 35! We're not sure what this means yet, but we might get that tax deduction afterall!

The pictures are of his face. If you can't see it in the wide shot, concentrate on the other one. Think of it as the left side of his face - chin slightly tucked down, nose in full view, eye closed with eyelid showing and cheek just under the eye. It took me forever to see it, but now I can't miss it. A good looking thing, isn't he?

Wesley girls

Some of the Wesley girls gave us a little baby shower. It was a lot of fun, and we have some little clothes for him now.

Rigby

We got a new camera this week... Refurbished from eBay! D. is experimenting by taking lots of pictures. Rigby is 7 months old now, and she's a lot of fun to have around. She makes me smile because she is always happy to see me.

32 weeks

Here I am at 32 weeks... It's starting to look like Fall here, although it hasn't gotten really cold yet, so I think it's a good compromise. It's hard to believe we're only 8 weeks away!

11.01.2006

the crib arrived!

The crib arrived yesterday, and D. put it together in under an hour! It really looks like someone's room now, doesn't it?

goodbye

We are saying goodbye to my Grandma this week. She was really a wonderful Grandma, the best any of us could ask for. She died peacefully on Thursday, and we are so thankful for that. We are so sad that she won't be able to meet her newest great-grandson, but she and I talked about him a lot on the phone during the past few months.

You can see a few of our little baby's things here... we got a lot of great books at the party, and we're excited to read them to him!

here's the rug my mom got us. The colors go really well in the room

Baby Shower

We had a baby celebration this weekend with some of our good friends from around here. It was really a lot of fun, and a huge blessing! My mom, D.'s mom, and D.'s sister and grandma all came too! We had a lot of fun spending quality time together. Here are just a few pictures of the event.

D. at 29 weeks

Here's D. at 29 weeks, and here he is with one of our baby's outfits. He really isn't showing at all yet, is he?

29 weeks...11 more to go!

Here I am at 29 weeks. I am getting really big. He is moving around a lot more now, and it's a little crazy! He bounces around like he's at a soccer match. We're really looking forward to meeting him, and we can't believe it's only 11 weeks away!
(Sorry the picture isn't great quality...it's an issue with the flash.)

The Campus Pastor

Here D. is with the new Wesley Foundation sign. It is weird that his name is up there with "pastor" beside it! He is really doing a great job, and we're so excited to be part of this ministry. You have to imagine the sign with some flowers or plants around the posts... we're having another board workday in October!

more pregnancy photos

I know, I have not been so good at updating lately! School has been really busy, and it is difficult just to feel like I'm keeping up. I am really enjoying it so much, though. I am even starting to enjoy History of the English Language a little more. Anyway, here I am at 25 weeks. I am really getting big now!

baby quilt

This is the quilt my mom is working on for the baby. We got the idea from Pottery Barn Kids, but it is really looking wonderful! I can't wait to see it in person. She's also making a bumper pad for the crib.

a baby present

Our Nanny (D.'s grandmother) made this sweet sweater set for her first great-grandchild. It really is beautiful... a lot prettier in person than in this picture. It will look great on our little boy.

22 weeks

Here I am at 22 weeks... sorry I missed last week. It was the first week of classes and very BUSY! Last week we found out that it's definitely a HE! I started to feel him moving for the first time last week, and D. felt him on Saturday. It's a really amazing thing to feel him move around and kick inside of me.

working at the wesley house

We spent so much time at the Wesley house on Saturday. We had a yard sale in the morning, but it was a blessing because we earned about $1200. Then, some of the board members came over in the afternoon and brought their big tools. They took out a lot of extra growth, and the Wesley house looks great! Here are a few shots.

20 weeks

Sorry this is a little late, but here I am at 20 weeks!

8.10.2006

19 weeks

Here I am at 19 weeks... I told D. we have to start taking these pictures in the morning when I am not so tired!

Welcome to our new house!

This is what you see as you come in our front door, and here are our new curtains from IKEA.

Family Room

Here are a few pictures of our family room. It really is a nice space. We had a party with twelve college students in here already! Everybody fits with room for lots more.

smaller table

This is our small table with our fun red chairs from IKEA. The window was my birthday present from D. this year. I love it!

the kitchen

This is our kitchen... it is so big--you're only seeing half of it in this picture! It's nice to have so much space. Lots of people can help cook. :)

Living and Dining rooms

This big room is the living and dining room. I'm going to make curtains for it soon... if only I could sew as well as my mom!

guest bedroom

Wouldn't you like to come and stay with us?

18 weeks

Here I am at 18 weeks... I'm a little late posting this week because we've been hanging curtains and decorating with all of the items from our trip to Ikea. I'll post pictures of the house again later this week.

Two more weeks and I'll be halfway there! I feel like I get bigger every day. I look a little tired in the picture this week.
