About

We are a family trying to live into The Story of God.
The title of the blog is inspired by a line from an Andrew Peterson song, “All Things New” from Resurrection Letters, Vol. 2.
The world was good, the world is fallen, the world will be redeemed, so hold on to the promise. The stories are true that Jesus makes all things new.
The reason we live our lives the way we do is because the stories aren’t just stories – the stories are true. There is a promise to hold on to. The story continues even today and we are a part of it – even in the daily routines of family life.

We do our best to engage in spiritual disciplines, or practices as a family that help us live into God's Story. We pray together, read together, memorize scriptures together, and sing together. Instead of being rigid prescriptions, these practices are woven into our everyday lives. We read together before bedtime, (and throughout the day), we sing special bedtime songs, and we pray before meals and at bedtime (and other times when we are afraid or anxious). On the blog sidebar, you'll see a gadget called "Our Bookshelf." This lists some of the books we read together as a family, and some books that have helped D. and I grow in our relationship with Jesus and in our understanding of God's Story. Please click through and read about them. If you buy one from amazon we'll get a small referral fee, but we recommend checking to see if they're available at your local public library as well!
